DRIVING TO NORWAY

 NORWAY WE ARRIVE !

We'll leave Rouairoux Saturday to Roros with 12 dogs to run the FEMUNDLOPET !

Now it's shure : everything is quite ready : we're leaving !!! And I have to practise my english before next week ! (I'm not shure I'll be able to learn Norvegian in 3 days !!!)

Ne vous moquez pas, c'est sérieux ! Nous partons, les préparatifs battent leur plein, notre carrosse argenté va devoir rajouter au moins 5000Km supplémentaires à son compteur et il va retrouver les routes de glace du grand Nord ! A nous les Fjords et les grands espaces, au musher de la Montagne Noire les nuits à la belle étoile avec les chiens dans la neige par -40°C ...

Voici le programme qui attend l'équipe là haut :

TRAIL DESCRIPTION - FEMUND 600

 

 

 

Röros - Tufsingdalen - ca. (70 km)  The race starts at the field outside Idrettsparken hotell in Röros. The race will go straight out over the Lake Gjettjønna. After a few road crossings, the trail follows Mölmannsdalen, the trail goes through a dense forest to Skjevdalen, then the trail goes out onto Lake Rambergsjøen, crosses the road Langsveien and into Grådalen, along the road to Tufsingdalen where there is a checkpoint and restart. The race restarts after ca. 2 hours.
 
Tufsingdalen - Femundtunet - ca. 70 km (140 km) From here the trail climbs up Kvernvikhögda (about 300 meters difference in elevation). At Kvernvikhögda it can be quite windy, before the trail enters the forest again on the other side where it connects to a ski trail which we follow until it crosses Road 26 near Buvika. There are a few changes compared to the 2006 race of the trail between Buvika and Femundtunet, A more detailed description will be put out as soon as it is decided.
 
Femundtunet - Øvre Rendalen (Sövollen) - ca. 70 km (210 km) From Femundtunet, over Bjertkjölen, across Road 217 and down onto Lake Galtsjöen. The trail follows the east side of Lake Sölensjöen, crosses the lake just north of Mefurua. From Sölensjöen the trail follows the road up through Åkerådalen, then it swings towards northwest along Misterfløyet, and then up onto the road at Mistertjønna. From here the trail follows the road into the checkpoint at Søvollen.
 
Øvre Rendalen - (Sövollen) - Tynset ca. 80 km (290 km) The trail goes north, onto the road to Nekkjølsetra, then leaves the road and goes north to Nordre Speksjøen,. continues northwest, onto the road at Ingiersvollen. On the road to Klettsetra, then along an old cart road north to Bannarhøa, then down to the west through Ryvangen, then south through Gammeldalen. Northside of Sødalsvangan it turns west again on the road to Hopsetra. From Hopsetra the trail goes through the forest to Nesmoen, crosses the county road, then through some fields south west into the checkpoint of Tynset.
 
Tynset - Grimsbu (Folldalen) - ca. 120 km (410 km) Cross the river Glomma, under the bridge RV3, then north on the uncleared road on the west side of Tundalen, up to Gløtlisetra, south to Rødalen and over to Markbulidammen, Through Einunndalen to the Red Cross reporting post at Kløftbekken. Up to Bjørnskardet, over to Kakelldalen, up past Skardbekksetra, along the northwest side of Storhøa, down to Dalholen. Under RV27 at Eide bridge, then down through the river Folla to the checkpoint of Grimsbu,
 
Grimsbu - Tynset - ca. 90 km (500 km) Up the hillside towards Håneskletten, over Kakella, eastwards to Gammelsætran, over the mountain to Einunndalen, then from their the same trail back to Tynset.
 
Tynset - Tolga - ca. 30 km (530 km)  Up the westside of the river Glomma to Telneset, crosses the river under the train bridge. Into the valley Dølrøsta, under the electric lines to Sæthershallen, the checkpoint for Tolga.
 
Tolga – Røros – ca. 85 km (625 km) The trail will follow the ski trail to Bjørkåsen. Crosses RV26 southeast of Bjørsjøen, up Mt. Håmmålsfjellet, and swings southeast to Narbuvoll. Crosses RV28 at Narbuvoll Fjellstue, over Narsjøen, up to Litjkorssjøen, the trail swings around and south of Korsjøfjellet. Then to Grådalen , follow the same trail from there to the finish line at Røros.

Of course we hope it will be a nice (and very cold !) trip !

Nous partons à 3 avec l'ami Gilles, cameraman officiel (!) et nous ferons la route avec Daniel JUILLAGUET qui participe aussi à la course. Nous sommes en pleins préparatifs et la tension est à son comble.

Avec un anglais si parfait Steph, aucun besoin d'apprendre le norvegien!  ;-) 
Sans rire, ça me fait penser à une nouvelle fonction pour toi, en plus de handler de notre champion: Journaliste, une aide très précieuse au reporter pour les interviews. Je prépare le micro, toi affute tes questions....
